Kia Carens Clavis EV: A Practical, Feature-Packed Electric MPV for Indian Families

Kia has introduced the all-electric Carens Clavis EV in India, marking a significant step in its EV journey. Designed to retain the familiarity of the ICE variant, the Clavis EV features subtle design tweaks like a connected DRL strip, blocked grille, aero alloy wheels, and LED tail lamps. It's slightly taller than its ICE sibling due to a revised suspension and battery placement.

Inside, the Clavis EV offers a premium, tech-rich cabin with a massive 26.62-inch infotainment-cum-instrument cluster, drive mode selectors, regenerative braking paddles, and a switchable control panel. Storage has been enhanced thanks to the floating console and redesigned gear selector placement. It seats up to seven, though the third row is best suited for short trips. Features like rear picnic tables, multiple USB-C ports, a 3-pin socket, and ‘boss mode’ for extra legroom improve practicality.

Under the hood, the EV is powered by a 126kW motor with 255Nm torque, offering drive modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. The 51.4kWh battery variant promises up to 490km range and supports 100kW DC fast charging (0-80% in 39 mins).
